A joyful moment has arrived at National Trust for Nature Conservation – Central Zoo with the birth of a healthy male Hog Deer fawn.

Hog Deer लाई नेपालीमा सामान्यतया “लगुना” वा “हग डियर” भनेर चिनिन्छ। दक्षिण एशियामा पाइने मध्यम आकारको हरिण प्रजाति हो। यो घाँसे मैदान तथा वन क्षेत्रमा बसोबास गर्छ। दौडँदा टाउको तल झुकाएर सुँगुरजस्तै कुद्ने भएकाले यसलाई “हग डियर” भनिन्छ। यसले घाँस, पात तथा वनस्पति खाने गर्दछ। नेपालका विभिन्न संरक्षित क्षेत्रमा पाइने यो प्रजाति संरक्षणका दृष्टिले महत्वपूर्ण मानिन्छ।

The tiny fawn was born safely under the care and protection of the zoo staff, bringing happiness and excitement to everyone at the zoo. Soon after birth, the little one was seen gently standing beside its mother, taking its first careful steps into the world. With its soft brown coat and innocent eyes, the newborn has already become a symbol of hope for wildlife conservation and care.

Hog Deer are graceful and shy animals found in the grasslands and forests of South Asia. The birth of this male fawn is an important achievement for conservation breeding efforts at Central Zoo.
