Adopt an Animal

The Adopt an Animal Program at Central Zoo is a meaningful way for individuals, families, and organizations to actively support the care and conservation of the wonderful animals that live in the zoo. By adopting an animal, you are not taking it home, but rather contributing a fixed amount that directly supports its daily needs, including nutritious food, veterinary care, and enrichment activities that ensure its health and happiness. Your support helps us maintain the highest standards of animal welfare, while also giving you a unique opportunity to build a personal connection with wildlife and contribute to conservation in a tangible way. Adoption is also a thoughtful gift that reflects compassion, responsibility, and a shared commitment to protecting nature. Whether you choose to adopt a majestic tiger, a playful monkey, or a graceful bird, your contribution will go a long way in ensuring the wellbeing of your chosen animal and strengthening our mission of conservation, education, and public awareness.

We are proud to share that the Lalitpur Metropolitan City has adopted a male Royal Bengal Tiger by providing NPR 1.5 million to support its feeding and wellbeing. Similarly, the Prabhu Shamsher and Raji Rana Trust has generously adopted a pair of chimpanzees at Central Zoo and has been providing NPR 1 million every year for their care and wellbeing. Their inspiring contributions demonstrate how collective efforts can make a real difference in the lives of animals, and we invite you to join hands with us in this journey. By adopting an animal today, you too can leave a lasting impact on wildlife conservation and help us create a safer, healthier, and happier environment for the animals in our care. Explore the list of animals available for adoption along with their adoption rates, and take the step toward becoming a proud adopter who helps protect nature for generations to come. Also, St. Xavier’s School adopted zoo’s Hippopotamus and Hiumalayan Black Bear by providing NPR 50 thousand for each to support the animals. By adopting an animal today, you can make a lasting impact on wildlife conservation and help us create a safer, healthier, and happier environment for the animals in our care. On March 03 2021, NTNC-Central Zoo launched its ‘Adopt an Animal’ campaign starting with the Rt. Hon’ble Prime Minister and his spouse, Hon. Forest and Environment Minister, a ten-year old boy (the youngest adoptee), plus five others, who took the first step of commitment to care and inspire.

Now is your chance! Connect with your favorite zoo animal through our adoption program. Your symbolic adoption will help share your care by providing funds to maintain our outstanding animal care services, including for feeding, veterinary services, habitat improvement and enrichment support.

Caring for animals and their habitats is central to the National Trust for Nature Conservation-Central Zoo’s mission. A trained and dedicated staff provides the best care possible through a commitment to the health and well-being of the animals. By helping care for the animals at the zoo, you are also helping research and conservation efforts within the zoo and around the country. When you choose to adopt an animal, you’ll be sharing your care. Your donation to the program helps to provide expert care for your favorite animal for one year.
